What the catalog is for, the three ways to fill it, how the Catalog screen is laid out, how items count toward your plan, and who can change what.

The catalog is the list of everything you sell — products **and** services — with their prices, availability and links. When a visitor asks "do you have this in green?", "how much is a tune-up?" or "is it in stock?", the assistant looks the answer up in your catalog and shows the matching items as cards with a link to each one.

The assistant never invents a price or says something is in stock unless your catalog says so. So the catalog is worth keeping accurate: it is what the assistant quotes.

## Products and services

Every item has a **Type**:

- Product — something you sell: a bike, a lamp, a jar of honey.
- Service — work you do or book: a repair, a haircut, a consultation, a rental.
- Listing — something you advertise one at a time, such as a flat, a used car or a job.
- Custom — anything that fits none of these.

The type mostly helps the assistant understand what it is talking about. One difference is visible to visitors: a service never shows an "in stock" label in the chat, because stock means nothing for a massage or a roof inspection.

## Three ways to fill your catalog

| Way | Best when | See |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Add items by hand | You offer a handful of products or services | [Add and edit items](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/items) |
| Import a CSV file | Your items already live in a spreadsheet or another program | [Import items from a CSV file](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/csv-import) |
| Connect an online shop | You have a web shop and want Konvuno to keep up with it itself | [Product feed](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/product-feed) or [WooCommerce](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/woocommerce) |

You can combine them: connect your shop, and add by hand the few things it does not list, such as a gift card or a workshop service.

The two ways to connect an online shop

Items from a connected shop are **read-only** in Konvuno — you change them in your shop, and Konvuno picks the change up by itself. They do not appear in the table on this screen; the shop's tile under Sources shows how many were imported and when.

## The Catalog screen at a glance

- **Sources** at the top — connect a product feed or a WooCommerce shop, and see how a connected shop is doing. Once a shop is connected, **Widget answers from** appears here too — see [Which catalog the assistant answers from](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/in-chat#active-catalog).
- **The table** — the items you added by hand or imported from a file. Search by name or SKU, and narrow the list by Category or Availability. Click a row to edit the item. With a shop connected, this part is headed **Added manually**.
- **From your store** — with a shop connected, the products the assistant knows from it. See [Your shop's products in Konvuno](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog#synced) below.
- **Import history** at the bottom — every CSV import, with a way to undo one. See [Import history](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/csv-import#history).
- **The buttons at the top** — Import CSV and Add item.

## Your shop's products in Konvuno

The products from a connected shop, listed and searchable

With a shop connected, **From your store** lists the products the assistant knows from it — every size and colour as its own row, with its price and availability. It starts closed; click the button with the number of products to open it, and search by name or SKU.

The list is read-only. To change a product, change it in your shop: the change arrives here at the next read.

### Sync now

Konvuno reads a connected shop on its own, a few times a day. When you have just changed something and want the assistant to know now, click **Sync now** on the shop's tile. Only owners see the button.

- The read runs in the background and takes a few minutes for most shops; the tile shows when it finished.
- You can sync once every 15 minutes. Sooner, the dashboard says "Your store was synced less than 15 minutes ago. Try again a little later."
- While a first import is still running, the button waits for it.

## Items and your plan

Each plan includes a number of catalog items — see [pricing](https://konvuno.com/#pricing); to move to a bigger plan, see [Change your plan](https://konvuno.com/help/settings/billing#change-plan). Without a plan, a business can have up to **100**, as many as the smallest plan. What counts is every **sellable row**: one line in your catalog that a visitor could buy or book.

- An item with no options is one row.
- A product that comes in options — sizes, colours — counts **one row per option**. A T-shirt in three sizes and four colours is 12 rows, even though your shop shows it as one product.
- Items that are out of stock or unavailable still count. Items you delete do not.
- Items from a connected shop count just like the ones you add yourself.

Without a plan, the bar above your items shows how many of the 100 you have used.

The limit is checked whenever the catalog would grow:

- **Adding an item by hand** — at the limit, Add item tells you the catalog is full instead of opening the form.
- **A CSV import** — before the file is uploaded, the last step of the import counts how many of its rows would be new items. Rows for items you already have only update them, so they never count. If the new ones do not fit, the import does not start, and the box says how many are new and how many your catalog already has. See [Imports and your plan](https://konvuno.com/help/catalog/csv-import#plan).
- A **shop** that would take you over the limit is not imported at all — Konvuno never imports half a shop. The Sources card then shows **Catalog too large for your plan** with the numbers, an Upgrade button and, after you upgrade, Retry import.

Tip

Shops are often surprised by how many rows their options add up to. Before you connect, count the options, not the products — or remove the variants you no longer sell.

## Who can do what

| Action | Owner | Member |
| --- | :---: | :---: |
| Add, edit and delete items | Yes | Yes |
| Import a CSV file, undo an import | Yes | Yes |
| Choose which catalog the assistant answers from | Yes | Yes |
| Connect or disconnect a shop, retry a failed import | Yes | No |

Connecting a shop also needs an [active subscription](https://konvuno.com/help/settings/billing#subscribe). Without one, the shop tiles show "Connect a store on any paid plan." and an Upgrade button. Adding items by hand and importing a file work without a plan, up to 100 items.

How other businesses use it

- **A hair salon** adds its twelve treatments by hand as Service items, so "how much is a balayage?" gets an exact price and a booking link.
- **A garden centre** keeps its plants in a spreadsheet and imports it as a CSV file every Monday.
- **A fashion shop on WooCommerce** connects its shop once; new arrivals and sold-out sizes reach the assistant by themselves.
- **An estate agency** lists each flat as a Listing with a photo, a price and a link to the full listing.
